Angerpool History

On July 4th, 2023, Natalie Olsen’s father staged a coup and seized power in Angerpool. However, just two days later, he died of a heart attack. According to his will, his eldest daughter was designated to take over his position. Since then, the island state has been ruled by Mayor Natalie Olsen, and the country has rapidly transformed into a police state. Angerpool, therefore, is not a western democracy but rather a dictatorship.

On December 1st, 2024, Natalie’s unknown twin sister, Avril, arrived in Angerpool. Having been born just three minutes before Natalie, Avril claimed the throne, ousting her sister and becoming the new dictator of Angerpool.

What is a Police State?
A police state is a country where the police and/or military have extensive powers to intervene against citizens. This can include surveillance, arrests, searches, and interrogations, often without specific legal authority or under a broad interpretation of existing laws. While visitors can generally stay safe as long as they adhere to Angerpool’s laws, the authorities have the power to imprison political opponents or individuals deemed “terrorists” by the government, often for an indefinite period and without trial or due process. The purpose of a police state is to maintain the power of the ruling government and prevent any opposition.

Angerpool City Overview:
Angerpool City is structured in a way that encourages both crime and control. Key features of the city include:

  1. Crime and Law Enforcement:
The city offers many opportunities for criminal activity, with a large prison island, courthouses, and police stations. It is an ideal setting for roleplay centered around crime, punishment, and the justice system.
  2. Mental Hospital:
Angerpool’s mental hospital allows visitors to consult psychiatrists in the open ward. However, if a court determines that someone poses a danger to society, they may be transferred to a closed ward. Some rumors suggest that this closed ward functions similarly to a prison, albeit with medical treatment.
  3. Prostitution Industry:
Prostitution is legal in Angerpool, but those wishing to operate must apply for a license. Full details on how to obtain a license are available on the official website.
  4. Brothel and Nightclub:
As part of the legalized prostitution industry, there is a brothel and nightclub in the city.

Prisoners / Detainees:
Angerpool operates as a city-state where both physical and psychological punishment are commonly used for criminal behavior. Prisoners are often chained as a reminder of their punishment and the consequences of their actions.

What is OOC & IC?

In a role-playing game, you are your character (avatar). However, sometimes we need to communicate with the player behind the keyboard. These types of comments are referred to as OOC (Out Of Character). When we address your character, we speak in IC (In Character).

  • OOC (Out of Character) refers to messages or comments meant to be read as coming from you, the player, not your character. These are comments or information shared from the perspective of the person controlling the character.
  • IC (In Character) refers to messages or actions meant to be read as coming from the character you’re playing. The player may not necessarily share the same opinions or views as their character.

Typically, a role-playing game will contain a mixture of both OOC and IC interactions, depending on the context.
